Air Force junior Guy Blessing has been named the Atlantic Hockey Goaltender of the Week after helping lead the Falcons to a split with second-place Sacred Heart Feb. 9-10.

The Chandler native recorded his second shutout of the season and third of his career with a 2-0 win over SHU on Feb. 10. He stopped all 18 shots he faced, including 11 in the third period and four after SHU pulled the goalie.

In the Sacred Heart series, he stopped 28 of the 31 shots he faced for a 1.52 goals-against average and a .903 save percentage.

The weekly award is the second for Blessing this season and third of his career.

In his youth hockey days, Blessing played for VOSHA, DYHA, CAHA, AHU and in AHSHA for Hamilton High School, spending the most time with the Jr. Sun Devils and Knights.
