Arizona youth hockey product, Gilbert native Livanavage tabbed NCHC Defenseman of the Week

North Dakota sophomore defenseman Jake Livanavage has been named the NCHC Defenseman of the Week.

The blueliner earns the honor for the second time in the last four weeks and becomes the third defenseman in the league to win the award multiple times this season.

Livanavage was all over both ends of the ice for North Dakota last weekend against Bemidji State, finishing the series with a pair of assists for two points. He tallied a point each night, dishing out the primary helper on Sacha Boisvert’s goal in Friday’s contest before notching another primary assist on Carter Wilkie’s tally in the series finale.

He was also strong in his own end as well, finishing with seven blocked shots over the two games, including five on Saturday, while also recording a plus-1 rating. The Gilbert native logged a game-high 26:46 of ice time in Saturday’s overtime affair as well.

Back home, Livanavage played for the Arizona Hockey Union, DYHA, Jr. Coyotes and Arizona Bobcats.
