Bobcats standout Hammett earns chance at next level, signs NAHL tender with Anchorage

The Arizona Bobcats have announced that 18U forward Jason Hammett has signed an NAHL tender agreement with the Anchorage Wolverines of the NAHL’s Midwest Division.

Hammett, a 17-year-old from Phoenix, is currently leading the Bobcats’ 18U team in scoring so far this season with 18 points (eight goals, 10 assists) in 20 games.

“We are excited for Jason to get this opportunity to sign a tender with the Wolverines,” said Bobcats head coach Brent Gough. “Jason has been with us for four years and a part of the ladder of development in the NAPHL. He’s been rewarded with a tender and we are excited for him and can’t wait to watch his hockey journey continue.”

During the 2020-21 season, Hammett played for the Bobcats’ 16U team where he had 10 points in 19 regular-season games and four points in five playoff games.

He was also selected to and played in the 2020-21 NAPHL 16U All-Star Game, where he recorded an assist.

During the 2019-20 season, he played for the Bobcats’ 15U team in the NAPHL.
