The USPHL has announced that Carolina Jr. Hurricanes blueliner Keaton Toenjes is the Southeast Division’s Defenseman of the Week.

Toenjes, a 2003 birth year from Gilbert, played a strong, solid defensive game to help his team get the sweep of the Hampton Roads Whalers over the weekend. Along with registering an assist, he blocked three shots over the weekend.

During his youth hockey days, Toenjes skated for the Arizona Bobcats and Corona del Sol High School.
