1st round (11th overall) – Paden Hicks – forward from Kansas City, Mo.
1st round (17th overall) – John Dalton – defenseman from River Forest, Ill.
2nd round (40th overall) – Anthony Leahy – forward from Roseville, Minn.
3rd round (77th overall) – Benjamin Behrens – goaltender from St. Louis, Mo.
4th round (98th overall) – Reed Kluender – defenseman from St. Paul, Minn.

“We are thrilled with the players we were able to select in today’s 2021 NAHL Entry Draft and what’s really exciting is that three of these players in Hicks, Leahy and Kluender were at our pre-draft camp last weekend and impressed us so much (that) we added them to our protected list with today’s picks,” said Ice Wolves coach-GM Phil Fox. “We set out to add depth to our roster and with today’s picks, we accomplished that. We are now focusing on the upcoming main camp, which returns to our home ice in Albuquerque and the entire organization is thrilled to get the new season started.”

The team’s draft picks, tenders and other protected players will be joined by invited free agents at the Ice Wolves’ main camp on July 28-31 at Outpost Ice Arenas in Albuquerque, where the final roster will be firmly shaped up.

In Arizona news, Phoenix native and Jr. Coyotes and Arizona Bobcats graduate Arik Altman was selected by the Johnstown Tomahawks in the 13th round (376th overall). Altman, a forward, played last season for the USPHL’s Las Vegas Thunderbirds. Another forward and Bobcats alum, Connor Brazil, was taken in the 10th round (264th overall) by the Amarillo Wranglers.
