Morrell scored a CCHA-leading six goals and added one assist for seven points across six December games for the Huskies, producing a plus-6 rating.

The Mesa native recorded 14 shots on goal and had two blocks defensively. He notched at least one point in four or six games, including two multi-point efforts at Bemidji State on Dec. 13-14. In the face-off circle, he won 55 of 106 draws (51.9%).

In addition, Morrell was tabbed CCHA Rookie of the Week today as he scored the overtime-winning goal for MTU in the Great Lakes Invitational third-place game on Monday, capping a week in which he also recorded five shots on goal and finished with a minus-1 rating.
