Phoenix native, Bobcats, Jr. Coyotes alum Ferraz heading to AJHL’s Storm for ’22-23 campaign

The AJHL’s Grande Prairie Storm have announced the signing of 2004-born defenseman Cameron Ferraz for the 2022-23 season.

A Phoenix native, Ferraz played last season at the Cushing Academy under well-known coach Paul Perl in Ashburnham, Mass.

“I am really excited to be joining the Storm and coming to the city of Grande Prairie,” said Ferraz. “I can’t wait to get there and get things going.”

Storm general manager Mark Bomersback is elated with the team’s latest signing.

“I’m very excited to have Cameron officially part of the Storm roster,” said Bomersback. “His mobility along with his skill set and ability to shoot the puck jumped out at me right away. Cam logged a lot of minutes last year while playing against opponents’ top lines while leading the Cushing defense in points (four goals, 16 assists, 20 points in 26 games).

“He’s a welcome addition, and we couldn’t be happier.”

Back home, Ferraz played for the Jr. Coyotes and Arizona Bobcats.
