The USPHL has announced that Fort Wayne Spacemen goalie Austin Schaertel is the Midwest Elite Division Goaltender of the Week.

Schaertel earned a win Jan. 17 while stopping 30 of 34 shots against the Chicago T-Rex as Fort Wayne took a 7-4 victory on home ice.

Back home, the Mesa native played for the Arizona Hockey Union, DYHA Jr. Sun Devils and Pinnacle High School.
