A pair of former Arizona youth hockey players have been named weekly award winners from the USPHL.

Las Vegas Thunderbirds defenseman Nick Bonaldi is the Pacific Division Defenseman of the Week while Thunderbirds’ goalie Anthony Bonaldi is the Pacific Division Goaltender of the Week.

On the blue line, Bonaldi, a 2003 birth year, had three assists in two of the T-Birds’ recent games against the San Diego Sabers and Ontario Jr. Reign, playing his first pair of games in five months, now recovered from a knee injury. He also led the team with a plus-5 rating over his first two games back.

Prior to the USPHL, Bonaldi played for the Arizona Bobcats.

The elder Bonaldi brother, a 2001-born netminder, put together a pair of wins that saw him make 47 saves on 50 shots for a .940 save percentage in the wins against the Jr. Reign and Sabers.

Bonaldi played in Arizona for the Bobcats and Jr. Coyotes.
