Chandler native, Bobcats product Gordon chooses OHL route, inks contract with Steelheads

The Ontario Hockey League’s Mississauga Steelheads announced today that defenseman Dylan Gordon has signed a standard player agreement with the club.

Originally from Chandler, Gordon moved to the Detroit area several years back and was taken by Mississauga in the seventh round (127th overall) in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection.

“We are pleased to add Dylan to our defensive core,” said Steelheads coach-GM James Richmond. “He plays hard every shift and has a strong hockey IQ. Dylan will grow into a solid OHL player, and we look forward to seeing him in the blue and white very soon.”

In the 2019-20 season, prior to being drafted, Gordon recorded 55 points (14 goals, 41 assists) in 60 games with the Detroit HoneyBaked 15U team. Most recently, he suited up for the HoneyBaked 16U squad in 2020-21 season and registered 19 points (six goals, 13 assists) in 35 games.

During his youth hockey career, Gordon also played for the Arizona Bobcats.
