Scottsdale native, Jr. Coyotes grad, ASU commit Strada garners weekly NAHL award
The North American Hockey League (NAHL) today announced the Divisional Stars of the Week, presented by Bauer Hockey, for the week ending Oct. 7, 2018.
The Divisional Stars of the Week is a weekly feature during the 2018-19 regular season that honors the top performing players in each of the four NAHL divisions.
Only players that are nominated by their respective teams are considered for the Divisional Players of the Week award.
Central Division Star of the Week: Joey Strada, forward, Aberdeen Wings
Strada, a 19-year-old Arizona State University commit, made the most of his lone game of the weekend as he led the Wings to a 6-2 win over the Brookings Blizzard on Friday night.
The Scottsdale native and Jr. Coyotes graduate had two goals, including the game-winner and two assists in the win. For the season, Strada is second in team scoring to date with nine points in seven games.
“Joey has established some pretty high standards for himself,” said Wings head coach Scott Langer. “He has a big role within our team and he always seems to show up when needed.”
