Chandler native, Arizona youth hockey product Blessing nabs weekly Atlantic Hockey honors
Air Force sophomore goalie Guy Blessing has been named the Atlantic Hockey Goalie of Week in helping lead the Falcons to a split with RIT, Oct. 20-21, at the Cadet Ice Arena.
In the series, Blessing recorded a .917 save percentage and a 3.07 GAA while stopping 66 of 72 shots.
In the first game against RIT, the Chandler native stopped 28 of 30 shots to lead the Falcons to their first conference win of the season. He made 14 saves in the third period and blanked the Tigers over the final 23 minutes. The next night, he stopped a career-high 38 shots against the Tigers.
The weekly conference honor is the first by a Falcon this season and the first of Blessing’s career.
In his youth days, Blessing played for VOSHA, DYHA, CAHA, AHU and in AHSHA for Hamilton High School, spending the most time with the Jr. Sun Devils and Knights.
