Ice Wolves’ top scorer Hanson selected to All-NAHL First Team for ’20-21 season

New Mexico Ice Wolves forward Cole Hanson has been named to the North American Hockey League’s All-NAHL First Team.

The selection was based on performance during the 2020-21 regular season, as voted upon by the league’s 23 head coaches of the teams that played in a challenging season complicated by the pandemic.

“This is a huge honor for Hanson and a historic first our team,” said Ice Wolves coach-GM Phil Fox. “On behalf of the entire organization, we congratulate him and are grateful for his contributions to the team and junior hockey.”

Born in Grand Forks, N.D., Hanson played in all but three of the Ice Wolves’ regular-season games during the 2020-21 season, also the final season in his junior career, and finished tied for third in league scoring with 60 points (21 goals, 39 assists) in 53 games played.

Hanson will play next season for NCAA Division I Colgate University.
