Fort Wayne Spacemen goalie Austin Schaertel has been named the USPHL Midwest Elite Division Goaltender of the Week.

Schaertel delivered a shutout performance, stopping all 33 shots he faced on Jan. 9 in a 3-0 win over the Metro Jets.

Back home, the Mesa native played for the Arizona Hockey Union, DYHA Jr. Sun Devils and Pinnacle High School.
