Scottsdale product Gauthier chosen for weekly Hockey East accolades

Boston College freshman forward Cutter Gauthier has been honored as the Hockey East Player of the Week.

Gauthier had a four-point performance for the Eagles on Friday in a 9-6 victory over rival Boston University in the 288th Battle of Comm Ave at Kelley Rink. The rookie scored two goals and added two assists against the Terriers, finishing the night with six shots on goal.

Gauthier now leads Hockey East and ranks third nationally in goals per game with 10 tallies in 13 contests. He sits fourth in the league in points per game following the first semester and has four multi-point games to his credit.

Last week, the Scottsdale native was named the Hockey East Rookie of the Week as well as the Hockey East Rookie of the Month for November.

Gauthier is currently competing at training camp in Michigan for the U.S. National Junior Team, auditioning to represent the U.S. in the 2023 IIHF World Junior Championship Dec. 26, 2022-Jan. 5, 2023 in Moncton, New Brunswick and Halifax, Nova Scotia.
