Ploszaj, a Gilbert native, was the North American Hockey League (NAHL) Central Division Goaltender of the Year last season with the Aberdeen Wings. Ploszaj led the Wings to a third-place finish in the 2017 Robertson Cup. He made 46 saves in an overtime shutout victory over the Minnesota Wilderness in the Central Division Finals to advance to the Robertson Cup.

In 35 games with Aberdeen this past season, Ploszaj recorded a 2.45 goals-against-average and had a .913 save percentage. Ploszaj also had stops in the Alberta Junior Hockey League and the British Columbia Hockey League the last two seasons.

“We are pleased to announce the addition of Forbes to the Saints hockey family,” said St. Scholastica assistant coach Shawn Bartlette. “Forbes has had a very impressive junior career. He has been a leader on his team and has proven he can play at a high level and be successful. We look forward to seeing him take the next step and help substantiate a strong goaltending corps at St. Scholastica for years to come.”

During his youth days, Ploszaj played for the Polar Bears and Jr. Coyotes programs.
