Phoenix native, Arizona State standout Walker selected NCAA Third Star of the Week
Arizona State junior forward Johnny Walker has been named the NCAA Third Star of the Week after his two-goal, two-assist weekend at Brown.
The Phoenix native netted two goals, including the game-tying goal, on Sunday at Brown as the Sun Devils rallied from a 3-0 hole to win 4-3 in overtime.
The two-goal performance made for his 13th multi-goal game of his career.
Walker is currently riding a four-game point streak with six points (two goals, four assists), and sits tied for sixth in the country in points and tied for seventh in goals. His 14 on the season are three out of the NCAA lead.
He now has 28 points through his first 24 games, outpacing his total of 27 at this same point last season.
During his youth hockey career, Walker played for the DYHA Firebirds, Arizona Hockey Union/Polar Bears and Jr. Coyotes.
